A trip by women, for women

Much of the vibrant essence and indescribable atmosphere of India lies in the fragrance of its spices, the rhythms of its ancestral drums, and the colors that flood every corner. To convey all these unique nuances, at OPEN EYES we have designed a tour that goes beyond mere tourism: the Spice Girl Tour. This initiative seeks to combine connection and purpose through, for, and from the perspective of women.

At Open Eyes, we have created an itinerary with clear objectives, always with an ethical and community-based approach to tourism. Our aim is to empower women, promote regenerative development, and offer travelers a profound, authentic, and human experience of India.

But what makes this tour so special?

The tour’s name is no coincidence. “Spice Girl” is a powerful reference that combines the richness of spices—an iconic Indian product—with the spirit of strong, entrepreneurial, and visionary women. Throughout the trip, participants (though travelers of all genders are welcome) immerse themselves in communities where the protagonists are women who have transformed their lives through projects in agriculture, cooking, textiles, and local entrepreneurship.

Each activity is designed not only to showcase a real, unidealized side of the country but also to generate a positive impact on the communities that host the travelers.

(Examples):

  • Visits to women’s cooperatives that cultivate and process spices such as turmeric, cardamom, and chili peppers.
  • Traditional Indian cooking workshops, where local ingredients are transformed into recipes steeped in history and love.
  • Encounters with community leaders who share their struggles and achievements, inspiring deep reflection on the role of women in society.

Unlike conventional tourism, the trip offered by Open Eyes not only seeks to minimize the negative effects of tourism, but also to regenerate it. This means restoring social and natural ecosystems, creating sustainable connections between visitors and locals. For this reason, training and support are fundamental to Open Eyes, which includes training women as tour guides.

The Spice Girl Tour is also a sensory delight. One of the most memorable moments is the visit to local markets, where aromas mingle with the vibrant colors of fruits, vegetables, and spices.

Likewise, the culture, local ceremonies and celebrations, textiles, and traditionally female crafts allow you to discover India from a perspective by and for women, through the experiences and lives of local women.

Thus, each activity and each discovery opens a window into the inner worlds of both the locals and the travelers themselves, cultivating empathy through direct contact.

The Spice Girl Tour is much more than a tourist route: it is an opportunity to unlearn, reconnect, and transform. Led by OPEN EYES and our wonderful, qualified team, this journey becomes a celebration of diversity, equality, and intercultural collaboration, offering a transformative experience and inviting constant reflection.
