About Us

We want to create tourism that enriches the experience
of travelers, regenerates the well-being of local communities
and promotes the sustainability of the planet.

We love India. We came here 13 years ago… and basically never left. For us, India is the most fascinating destination in the world.

We founded Open Eyes to share our love for India and support local communities: women, artisans and promote sustainable and regenerative travel practices.

Since 2011, we have been offering tours in India, committed to our worldview and Responsible Tourism policy. We design customized and tailor-made tours for groups and families ensuring that each trip is unique and memorable.

OUR PURPOSE

Our goal is to bring positive changes that benefit travelers, the local population and the places we visit.

Open Eyes Project is a social enterprise that works to create emotional experiences for our travelers, providing opportunities for women, artisans and designing the most ethical tourism value chain possible that helps us regenerate the planet and people.

We partner with women-only transport and co-create immersive experiences with communities and artisans, connecting travelers to the essence and potential of urban and rural India.
We also offer mindfulness moments with Yoga, Ayurveda and meditation to increase the awareness of our travelers.

Tourism
regenerative

At Open Eyes, we are convinced that sustainability is not only synonymous with quality, but also with awareness.

For us, regenerative tourism is not just another option, but the path to a new lifestyle. So, we aspire to transform the way you travel, making sustainability the norm, so that every step you take in the destination leaves a positive footprint, both on the place and on you.

We want you to return home with the satisfaction of having left the country better than you found it.

Responsible Tourism Policy

(01)Economic Impacts

At Open Eyes, we promote fair and inclusive tourism that values and rewards the incredible contribution of local people for their work.

In addition, we train vulnerable people, creating a more equitable and sustainable local economy that drives development and empowerment.

(02)Women in Tourism

At Open Eyes, we promote equal opportunities by employing women in our supply chain, such as drivers, guides, artisans and blind therapists.

In 2019, we were recognized for our Women in Tourism initiative, which empowers women in a more equitable and sustainable environment.

(03)Support for small artisans

At Open Eyes, we connect travelers with local artisans, promoting fair trade that strengthens community economies.

We avoid forced purchases from conventional tourism companies and purchase products directly from artisans, promoting fair trade, helping to preserve their traditional techniques and generating a positive and sustainable impact.

(04)Cultural immersion in Tibetan communities

On our trips, we offer a unique immersion into Tibetan communities, connecting travelers and their rituals, and with Tibetan monks who have found a safe haven under the spiritual leadership of the Dalai Lama, keeping their traditions and culture alive in exile.

Despite the difficulties these ancestral communities continue to struggle for their identity, connecting deeply with those who visit them.

(05)Community Regeneration: A Model against Climate Change

Since 2011, we have been part of a carbon neutral community in Rajasthan, generating 100% of our own solar energy, biogas, rainwater and organic food without pesticides.

We use local materials and recycle as much as possible, having planted over 2500 trees.
This model of sustainable living drives positive change, inspiring and educating future generations to care for the planet and mitigate climate change.

(06)Sowing seeds of hope

Since 2013, we have been organizing our Solidarity Action trip, in collaboration with Seed for Change, which works to improve the living conditions of children in Varanasi.

This organization focuses on education, health and child protection, giving children a more hopeful future free from exploitation.

(07)Inclusiveness for all

In India, only 1% of people with special needs have access to employment.

At Open Eyes, we offer opportunities to blind therapists at our Sattvic Retreat, improving their quality of life and enriching the experience of our travelers, promoting inclusion and well-being.

"We want to leave a positive footprint in each destination, ensuring that tourism not only enriches the traveler, but also improves the lives of the local communities that welcome us."
