One of our frequently asked questions of our future travellers is about accommodation. In Open Eyes we support direct positive repercussion on India’s economy, that’s why we shy ourselves from international hotels, preferring to go to charming or boutique-like accommodations managed by local entrepreneurs.

However, while these hotels may not be luxurious, it doesn’t mean they’re not on the level of your holidays. One perfect example of this is Hotel Fifu, one of our stops during the Cultural Trip. Just before spending our night at Jaisalmer’s desert, Hotel Fifu will delight us with their centenary traditional architecture, its rooms furnished with an elegant yet peaceful style –it will transport us to a fairy tale-like place, just as in one thousand and one nights.

Fifu is a three stories building with eleven rooms, where we will relax with the panoramic views of the Jaisalmer Fort while eating. The hotel’s kitchen is specialized in Indian vegetarian cooking, but they’ll also adapt to European specialties if needed.

Even while surrounded by an ancestral environment, we will enjoy free Wi-Fi connection; useful for telling our relatives and friends how interesting our travel in India has been. We will finish our stay at Hotel Fifu with a special night in the desert, accompanied by musicians that will cheer up the mood with their traditional melodies and dances.

As we’ve told you along the posts, India is a place of contrasts, which are also reflected in our chosen accommodations for our sustainable trips. We’ll be sharing with you more details about the different and exotic accommodations in a following series of posts.

Until next time, travellers!
